The Guidance and Counseling Program is comprehensive and is designed to meet the developmental needs of all Lowndes Academy students. Its purpose is to contribute to the success of student learning and overall planning.
Our program adheres to the National Standards for School Counseling Programs.
The Standards are based on providing success through activities designed to ensure students’ academic, career, and personal/social development.
The program is delivered through individual counseling, small group counseling, large group guidance, consultation, and coordination.
The Mission of the Counseling Department is as follows:
To support and encourage every student to make choices which will promote a positive transition into adulthood.
To advocate on behalf of each student according to individual needs and circumstances.
To encourage and support students as they set and meet goals that reflect high expectations for educational achievement.
